FEAR

What are you afraid of? I find that in today's world fear is the biggest marketing tool out there. Government makes you fear that if they don't intervene a great catastrophe will take place. Anyone remember TARP? When did fear first become a tool for people to manipulate others? Was in ancient times when people were told if they didn't abide by certain rules that god would strike them down? When lords used the threat of violence on the serfs? I feel like the modern U.S. society is based around fear in one way or another. Fear that if you don't get the newest phone or gadget then you will be ostracized. Fear that if you go against the grain and speak out you will be banished to the realm of crazy people. Fear that if you don't agree to give your child ritalin they will be kicked out of school. What we should be afraid of is losing our rights and liberties. We are in control. The government should be afraid of us, and not the other way around. As Dwight Schrute would say, "you can not sell while undergoing fear!" Comments please.

  1. Oh Jeffy.....your lucky I have massive amounts of time to kill and will contibute to your thoughts.....dont you think that fear is what our entire religion today is still based on. Musilums still dont eat pork because of how unhealthy it was back in the day....if they just said it was bad the poor would have still eaten it....but if "GOD" says dont eat it....people will starve rather than not obay. And people will slam Rep. on using fear(9-11) to privatize alot of things but the Dems are using the same tactics with the current financial crisis to put a further hold on all of us. Trevor Wilcox
